For this tut you will need:
PSP 7
Eye Candy 4000 If you don't have it, you should be able to substitute either a blade pro preset or PSP sculpture effect
My zip fileUnzip the selections to your selections folder, unzip the sun2 and sun3 presets to your eye candy chrome presets folder

Set your foreground color to white, background to null
Click on your draw tool, use these settings

I'll try to explain this as best I can since so many people seem to have trouble with
the bezier curve.
First draw a line straight across the top

Click in the middle one time and pull the handle up til the line curves up.
Click again in the middle and pull til the other side reaches the top
Mine looks like this

If it's not perfect, no big deal, just click on the object selector, choose node edit and fix it.
Now grab the little boxes and the middle and move your curve down a little

Click on your text tool. Move the crosshairs over the curve. When you see an A with a curve under it appear, click
Type whatever word you want on your shell. I typed Florida, I used Lucida Sans unicode, size 42, stroke set to null, fill set to white. Make sure you create as vector
Open your layer palette. Click the plus sign on the left of layer 2. You will see the word you typed, and Bezier. Click on the glasses to hide the bezier
Now go to layers-convert to raster
For the metallic effect, I am using EyeCandy 4000 chrome. You could also use sculpture, or a Blade pro preset.
If you're using eye candy,
Go to effects-plugin filters-eye candy chrome- use the sun 2 preset
Merge layers visible, resize by about 70%, save your work and set aside
Open a new image 100X100 transparent
Selections-load from disk, load 1sun.sel
Apply the same eye candy sun 2 preset chrome that you used on the text. If you used blade pro or scuplture, you need to floodfill with white first on all the selections
Ctrl+D to deselect
On the same layer, load 2sun.sel
Selections-modify-expand by 1
If you're using eyecandy, this time use the sun3 preset
Ctrl+D to deselect
Edit-copy, now go back to your seashell image and paste as a new layer
Position your sun on the top left
Save and set it aside
Open a new image 100 X100 transparent
selections-load from disk-load seahorse.sel
If you're using eye candy, use the same settings as the last time
Ctrl+D to deselect
Edit-copy. Back to your seashell image, paste as a new layer and position it near the bottom right
Layers-merge visible and you're done
