The next part uses the retouch tool, using 4 different settings. This is my first tut using this, and I am going to try to
show you as best I can.
Here are the settings. The size is variable, if you feel while doing this you need bigger or smaller, change it.

Activate the head layer
Darken and lighten as follows

Next, smudge the head. Keep your brush size small, stay within the lines of the head and smudge following the lines of the head

Next activate the chest layer, and lighten here:

Now smudge as before, following the direction the chest curves
Activate the body layer, lighten and darken as follows

Smudeg the body with short strokes, starting at the end nearest the head and moving in the direction of the tail. you will also want to pull out the edges at the end of the tail
You should have something similar to this, it will not look exact, Use your own judgement in deciding what looks right

Activate the wing layer. You may want to light the top and darken the bottom a bit. Smudge in the same direction you smudge the body, fluffing out the end a little

Layers- merge visible. Now soften everything, avoding the bill except where it joins to the head.

Add a new layer. Selections-load from disk, load 7 erikasduck.sel
Flood fill with black and deselect
Add a new layer.Selections-load from disk, load 8erikasduck.sel
Floodfill with black. effects-3d effects-inner bevel and apply the round preset
Deselect
Add a new layer.Selections-load from disk, load 9erikasduck.sel
Floodfill with white.
Deselect and soften the line's edges until it looks good with the rest of the body
You may also want to click once or twice on the eye layer with the soften brush
Layers-merge visible and you're done
