We lost Lestat to
a blood clot in his lung 2/3/05. Thursday morning he started foaming at the
mouth. A few minutes later he staggered into the bathroom and collapsed. I
took him to his vet. An Xray confirmed a blood clot in his lungs. His lungs
were almost completely full of blood, with only a few pockets of air and he
was going into shock. The vet said she could possibly keep him alive a few
days at most and then he’d die a painful death. She said if it were her kitty,
she’d let him go. Lestat never liked to be left alone, and I could not let
him suffer for days and die painfully, so I told her to do it. I held his
paw and looked into his eyes while she gave him the injection. He went very
peacefully. He was 10 years old.
Lestat was one of my best friends and my constant shadow for 10 years. I loved him ( and Madelynne) only second to my children. It's very hard to get used to him being gone.
He would wait outside my bedroom door every morning and get in bed with me when I woke up. I've begun every day since Thursday with tears. I keep expecting to see him everywhere and he's not. I am sure with time I will feel better but his loss has been very painful for me.
He was
a very loving kitty. He loved all the animals, especially Madelynne and Cosette.
He was the most intelligent kitty I have ever seen. There will never be any
replacement for him.

This one always one of my favorite pictures. Lestat loved Cosette and always
took care of her as if she was his own kitten. Madelynne and Cleo are grieving
for Lestat but poor Cosette just keeps looking for him. She is very confused.

I took this with my video

We sponsored Isis, Sophie, Taffy and Katrina from Pet Guards Shelter
in Lestat's memory. It helps me to know that other less fortunate kitties will be helped in his memory.

Also, Lestat's beloved wink Pandora and her Meowmy Sue sponsored Gavin from Happy Hills Animal foundation in Lestat's memory. thanks so much for thinking of him.
